Frame

A set of assumptions, definitions, perspectives, and practices that characterize how people understand issues and make decisions in a sphere of activity. Frames are necessary to organize our perceptions, thinking, and decision-making. As we look at an issue, they guide what we look for and how we interpret what we find. Frames are usually taken for granted, and making them explicit can often help us work through intractable (“wicked”) problems.
